Feel beautifully blue this January

Hello and welcome to this week’s instalment of Abode, the inspiration blog at First 4 Blinds. Always looking out for new trends and ways to inspire ourselves and January being synonymous with feeling a little blue, we found our subject for the week. The links to the images in this article have been sourced from Pinterest so while First 4 Blinds cannot deliver an exact replica of these pictures, we hope they will spark a new style or a few ideas if you’re currently looking to redecorate. If you would like any advice on making the most of your home this January, feel free to get in touch, we love to help our customers discover their home’s potential.

Taking some inspiration from changing light and a vast winter sky, this fresh and bright wall pattern instantly cheers up a room. It reminds us of a crisp sunny morning - what better way to start your day? We love the paring of the neutral base colour and the understated hints of blue to frame the room. It can even give the illusion of a wider wall which could be beneficial in making a smaller space feel more spacious.

The image below is a more atmospheric version of the picture above. It’s watercolour style really adds something unique to this look and adds an intense depth of colour. We love how modern this style is. It’s important to have the right fade if you’re attempting a look like this one. Although it takes up more space, it’s more opportunity to introduce a whole spectrum of colours from sea green to lilac as seen in the image below.

And to complete our trio of blue inspirations this week, the following image could be described as the end of a beautiful summer’s day. Something everyone can enjoy at this time of year when it’s so cold! We think this look could work well in any interior as it’s both soft and easy to admire. It combines a delicate blush pink with a gentle almost cornflower blue, and as you can see below, it looks gorgeous when paired with natural wooden furniture and neutral textiles.
