Ideas to keep you feeling festive through to New Year's Day

Hello and welcome to this week’s edition of Abode. We hope you had a beautiful Christmas and got to spend it with the people you love. The week between Christmas and New Year can sometimes be considered one of the strangest weeks of the year. On the one hand, it’s a brilliant time to be at home and a chance to catch up on things you wouldn’t usually have time for. But on the other hand, it can feel a bit daunting welcoming a brand new year so suddenly. To help you get prepared for more excitement and celebrations, we’ve compiled a couple of little tips to keep your 2017 feeling festive…

Begin to Clear the Decks…

This week is a great time to start gradually scaling back your Christmas decorations. This will also help if your New Year’s Eve Party runs long into the night - there’ll be less to tidy up afterwards in the first few days of 2018! We would recommend keeping out delicate decorations and especially those that are sentimental because after all, this is the season for feeling happy, comfortable and positive. But anything exceptionally Christmassy can maybe be safely stored for the Christmas magic of next year.

Use free time to plan a new project…

The New Year is the perfect time to bring new projects, aspirations and hopes into reality. If you’ve wanted to redecorate or just slightly revitalise your home for a while, why not use this week to search for some decorating inspiration? At Abode and First 4 Blinds we love to help clients to redesign their homes. Sometimes all it takes is a small change, like the installation of a stylish roller blind to really bring a room together. In other cases more significant changes are desired, we can help with wallpapers, curtains, shutters and many varieties of blinds. So whatever your imagination creates, we will do our best to make it happen and try to have your home transformed and beautiful once again. If you need a little help getting started with your inspiration search, you can search for First 4 Blinds on Instagram and Pinterest as well as catch up with our previous Abode articles.

We hope you liked our article this week. If you would like any further information or advice on decorating your home, please feel free to get in touch here: http://www.first4blinds.com/contact-us/. Alternatively, if you live locally to our Northampton store, feeling free to come and see our Design Lounge. And if you’ve already got a rough idea of what you would like to see in your home, call us before your visit, and we can set up the blinds, curtains or shutters as a sample to show you our range, tailored to you.

See you next week!
