Abode’s New Baby Nursery Ideas
Hello and welcome to Abode. This week, to celebrate the arrival of the latest royal baby Prince Louis, we have decided to feature our favourite nursery decorating ideas, as well as some tips to make your little one’s new room just as special as they are.
We’ve used Pinterest to find three of our favourite styles of nursery, so if you’re expecting a new arrival of your own, or perhaps know someone who is, we hope we can give you a few ideas to share.

When it comes to choosing your staple colour for your nursery, white is a classic choice. It’s accessible in most shops, easy to style and it signifies purity and a successful beginning. White is also the perfect gender-neutral colour, great for if you’re keeping the gender of your baby a surprise until the birth! The white curtains are ideal for the nursery pictured, and despite their bright appearance can still keep the room dark enough for baby to sleep soundly. When choosing your nursery curtains, at First 4 Blinds, we think it’s best to use double-lined to block as much UV as possible and to prevent the room (and your baby) from overheating. This helps to create a space that is comfortable for both adults and baby to spend time in. We love the overall style of this nursery from the cute baby animal pictures to the bohemian beaded chandelier; it’s a room fit for your own little prince or princess.
Peter Rabbit & Friends

For Prince George, Princess Charlotte and most likely for little Prince Louis too, Beatrix Potter’s beloved characters have featured in their nursery decor. The delicate yet detailed characters look as though they have leapt from their books and into the co-ordinated nursery scene pictured above. One of the best things about Peter Rabbit and his friends is that they can adapt to suit a particular gender or can remain gender-neutral. We also chose this image to emphasise different storage options for your baby’s room. If your nursery is on the smaller side, finding a place for all of baby’s lovely things can be difficult. The set of drawers in the picture are the perfect size for storing cot sheets and outfits and bulkier items such as spare blankets, allowing you to organise everything for easy access.

Our third feature suits a more vibrant style nursery. We think this jungle inspired scene will really encourage your baby’s sense of adventure. As your baby grows into an inquisitive toddler, the design can continue to capture their imagination with all the details. We love the fact that this mural, in particular, uses deep green as a base colour. It’s a refreshing and harmonising colour - perfect for any growing little one. The on-trend, ‘maximalist’ style of the piece provides big style points too for such a small person!
As usual with our inspiration blog, we won’t be able to source the exact products pictured. However, we are always available to offer our decorating advice to help your home to look its best.
